This is a time honored approach to customizing the medications in ways that either:

	improve the delivery of the medicine (e.g. taste for oral medications, creams for the skin)
	improve the patient's ability respond to the treatment (dealing with allergies to colors of dyes etc.)
	to create non-standard dosages when the physician wants something different than the normal prescription.
